Lately I have had unknown computers connect to my personal network. And I have noticed my internet is very slow as well. What should I do? Thanks in advance

  1. Setup security in your modem/router. For instructions, follow the manual which comes with it. There are more than 3 way of encryption available (usually). You can also use the MAC address filter (easiest) if you do not know how to set up the encryption.


  2. The only way other computers can connect to your LAN is over an UN-Secured Wireless link.

    Encrypt your wireless link.    WPA-PSK - and give it a good key.


  3. set up your security and leave it turned on don't ever turn it off i have one in my apartment for my laptop and my wii and my ds and all that they come in handy but they can be a pain in the butt and if you don't do it soon too many people may get on your network and if you have comcast or time warner they may start cutting your service untill they get off off your network

  4. Turn on WPA encryption on your router (and if it doesn't support it - upgrade your router).  

  5. Hi sounds like you've got yourself some leechers, like most answers make sure you setup WPA encryption.
