Unlawful eviction concern?

The lady has a baby and four other small kids but was evicted anyways. As her social worker, i have investigated and it's all false reasons. That landlord has done this to a number of people in the community. He is a professor at the university where I attend teaching social work. I plan on posting the flyer all over the community and on campus. Not sure what legal issues I can come across for doing it. As a student there, i know i can post things (I think), but what should I worry about or how should i go about doing it?

  1. First of NewYork, if you post something like that, be prepared for a slander suit.  You need evidence before doing something like that.  You should other means of going about what you want to accomplish.  Find out if he is a slum lord, or if the county is looking at him for legal reasons.  Like does he break a lease to evict one tenant for one who will pay a higher rent.  Go through the building if you can, find anything you can that is unsafe or below health department standards.  document it.  Talk to an attorney who represents tenants in these cases, he or she might give you some tips.

  2. the courts are the only ones who can legally evict not the landlords. there is something called a tenants bill of rights. you should have instructed this woman to go to housing court and you should have accompanied  her  to protect her interests. its not too late. i suggest you do this first thing tomorrow.
