It's just not as interesting when there isn't a Venus, Blake, Ginepri, Andy, or Serena to cheer for.

  1. No.

Its tennis, playing at Wimbledon should be based on talent, not national origin.  Are you suggesting a "quota" system?

  2. I guess you won't be watching tennis in the second week... at least on the Gentlemen's side.

Venus & Serena could/should get through to the 4th round, but after that... who knows.

Too bad you can't enjoy the tennis for what its worth. So, I don't feel the same way as you. It doesn't matter what country an individual is from. As long as it's entertaining and there are quality shot making, then I'm happy.

  3. This is what I can tell you, my friend. Five years from now, you won't be watching Wimbledon at all because there wouldn't be an American playing in it anymore. Through the past many years, the Chinese, Thais, Indians, and East Europeans (Serbs, Czechs, Croats, etc.) are turning up to be progressively stronger competitors, apart from the fact that a lot of Russians and West Europeans (Spanish, Swiss, Germans, Belgians, etc.) are already dominant in it. Gone were the days when all you'd ever see at Wimbledon were the likes of Connors, McEnroe, Billie Jean King, and Evert.

  4. ok firstly there are americans playing it....andy roddick is playing in it..serena and venus williams are playing in it..so i dont know what wimbledon you've been watching but there are all different players from all sorts of countries playing ..plus it shouldn't even matter.

  5. If you enjoy watching tennis for the game and not the players, you are cutting off your nose to spite your face.  Stop being so dramatic.

  6. youre an idiot.

  7. As an American, I like cheering on the Americans, especially Venus and Ginepri. However, I still watch. I also support all of the French players and Roger Federer.

  8. I don't think your correct at all. Everyone is watching Wimbledon. The Americans are just no good anymore. Roddick is losing fuel, and people like Djokovic and Nadal are rising up to the occasion. Americans are great to watch, but I just don't know why it's such a big deal about the americans getting into better rounds.... =D

  9. I only watch tennis when there's nothing better on, but I definately feel the same way. Oh, and you forgot Sharpova...

  10. yes i feel the same if its not going to be a good american but he has to be black ok, im not havin no white man there,

and i want to see PELE back in wimbodom again, and that clay fellow, yeah clay sting like a bee man

  11. careful, your typical American arrogance is showing.

  12. I refuse to watch televised sports at all. Kind of defeats the purpose. Almost on the level on an oxymoron really, lol. Just one more means by which humanity divides against itself.

  13. well, i have to say that those tennis players yu mentioned are pretty much the best on the court but you gotta give credit to some other people.

  14. No? Who cares what country they're from it's how they play.  Look at Federer  and  Nadal they've got the best game in tennis.

  15. I don't watch unless Maria Sharapova is playing. :~)

  16. The less American's, the better. Year after year Roddick comes back just to get his brains beaten out. That is my favourite part of watching Wimbledon.

Ginepri is boring as, Andy is one dimensional and a big sook when things don't go his way and Blake - well he is ok, but he will never win a Grand Slam tournament.

  17. Andy is an awesome server!

  18. I find that watching tennis, no matter WHO is playing, is akin to watching the proverbial paint dry.

I did keep the channel on for a while, however, when that Ana young lady tennis player was playing a couple of weeks ago.  She was worth watching.

  19. If that is how oyu feel, your choice, but will be watching a lot less tennis if you will only watch Americans. American tennis is suffering in a huge way, and without our current top players ( Williams Sisters, Davenport, Roddick, Blake, and will include Fish, Ginepri, Queery for heck of it), we then have no one, and no one to follow them either, sadly.

  20. I can't imagine why people don't like Americans...  they're all so tolerant and worldly.

  21. No, I like watching Roger Federer, too!  I understand how you feel, though.  It's hard to identify with many of the other players.

  22. No.  I refuse to watch no matter which nationalities are winning.
