  1. Hi

Checked something and need to change my answer:

Stil think A is partially right. This is why: The difference is in A, because nerves can be transplanted (replaced). Neurons are in your brain, so no transplanting there. Not sure about regrown, but hey, if they can grow ears on mice they might be able to grow nerves as well ;)

B is correct for neurons, so the correct answer

C is true for nerves, but not true for neurons, and you wanted the opposite.

D neurons consist of dendrites and axons.

PS: Richard, hon, check your physiology book again about neurons :)

  2. b

    (definately) (psychologist)

  3. Im no medical student, but .....

Since neurons are composed of nerves, you can rule out answer A. Since the brain and spinal cord send Central and autonomic nervous system signals, you can rule out answer C. Since nerves are composed of neurons, again, we can see the nerves are the carriers of chemical signals across the nerve networks, leaving answer B as the best!

  4. I pride myself on knowing this stuff - and I'm embarrassed!

    However, I'll go with D) because for some reason I think neurons are a sub-set of nerves and, therefore,do not (themselves) have dendrites{"incoming"} and axons {"sending now:can you receive?"}

AND.  I'd do a lot of confirmation before I ever used this answer on a test or in a paper.

  5. B

  6. Lets not overthink here.

Neurons do regrow and attach (so not a but b is possible).  Anyone who has had a surgery and felt the itching as the nerves reattach knows this first hand.  The nerve, however does not (so not a but b fits).  The glial sheaths around the neurons that make up the structure of the nerve will not regrow.  Once cut, they can heal, but if you remove the end of one, it is gone forever.  So its not A and B fits.

Neurons are located in the brain, in the spinal cord and in nerves.  Nerves are only outside the brain and spinal cord - so not C

Neurons do have axons and dendrites, so not D.

B fits all and is the right answer.

  7. B.

Nerves can never be replaced or regrown.

Neurons are located inside the brain and the spinal cord.

    Neurons have dendrites and axons.
