Unlocking UK PS2 region code to play an Australian...

We just moved over to Oz and brought my PS2 that I got in the UK.

I tried to play an Australian dvd in it and it basically said it couldn't play it becuase it wasn't compatible with the region.

Is there a way I can override/unlock the region code on the PS2 so I can watch he dvd?
