I live in Spokane, and a meeting is not mandatory unless it is a paid meeting. Having her clock out is in violation of WA state's L&I laws. If you go to their site you will see that anytime a meeting is mandatory the employee shall be paid up to two hours. So what I suggest is your wife stay clocked in. Otherwise she sould file a claim with L&I. Also, if you are called in on a day off or off your scheduled shift you must be paid for two hours. So come in uniform or dressed for work, and stay clocked in for the whole two hours. You must work those two hours but at least you are not just coming in for a 30 minute meeting for nothing. Now you are getting your full two hours under the law.
