Unprotected s*x. Plan B. No bleeding?

thought it was usual to bled after taking Plan B. Last Sunday, my boyfriend and I had unprotected sexual intercourse. The day after, I took Plan B. But I still haven't bled. My period's due in about eleven days, and I've been taking Yaz (birth control) for seventeen days.

Is it normal not to bleed after taking Plan B? Yaz doesn't work for the first month of taking it.

Am I pregnant? I'm only seventeen.. I don't need this.

  1. i'm pretty sure that you only bleed if you were pregnant and plan b killed it.

that sounded pretty bad but i wasn't sure of another way to put it.

  2. You don't always bleed after taking Plan B it is a side effect meaning that it can happen to some people but not always. Plan B is most effective if taken as soon as possible. Not recommended 72 hours after intercourse.

It will not terminate a pregnancy, it only stops the s***n from meeting the egg and impregnating you. By no means should it be used as birth control.

You should probably be using condoms also not just birth control. I know at 17 you don't want a baby but you should also be aware of STD's and AIDS.

I work in a Pharmacy and they are very real. I am only 25 and I see people that I went to school with that are now taking HIV and AIDS medications. It's a scary thought.

Since you took the Plan B within the first 24 hours everything should be fine and you most likely will start your period as scheduled.

  3. Plan B isn't specifically designed to make you bleed, it doesnt work by just causing everythint to shed and bleed. It works by delaying ovulation mostly. For some girls they will bleed for th emajority of girls they may actually experience the opposite and find that their period comes late.
