Question:

Unprotected s*x but on the pill?

Last night my boyfriend and I had unprotected s*x with him ejaculating inside of me. I'm on the pill (Yasmin if that makes a difference) but this is my first month. It was the last day until my period is supposed to start.. So tomorrow is supposed to be the first day of my period.

Question: Is it possible for me to get pregnant? How long does it take for the pill to become effective?

  1. It is possible for you to get pregnant, but it's less than 1%. Don't freak out. Your pills should have taken effect by the end of the first week. If, however, you experience any pregnancy symptoms (such as nausea, tender b*****s, missed period, etc.) you need to take a pregnancy test. But since it is your first month on the pill, you might have some of those symptoms anyway. Just stay cool and if you do have any worries, buy a test or go see the doctor for one, but you should be fine.

  2. the answer should be in ur leaflet..some pills become effective after a week..some become effective after a month. Since he cummed inside that can increase the possibilities of pregnancy...but jus rmmr birth control is not 100% effective so u should prolly consider using condoms next time

  3. Your chances of being pregnant are very very slim.

  4. Check the information sheet that came with your packet. I believe one complete cycle is recommended.

  5. The pill does't completely prevent pregnancy. There is still a chance you could get pregnant.

  6. The pill doesn't full protect against pregnancy so protected s*x is still recommended for unmarried couples. Also getting pregnant has a higher possibility just before and after your period.

  7. Hi there,

If you start the pill on the first day of your next period, it is immediately effective. However, if you don't, then it is effective within 7 days of taking the first pill.

So the answer is yes, you are definitely definitely protected!

The pill is 99.9% effective, so you do not have to use condoms if you don't wish to. However, unless you trust the person fully, i'd advise wearing a condom to protect against unwanted STI's!

The source i quoted below is a very good page which tells you EVERYTHING you need to know, offered by the main body which offers family planning info and products (contraception) to people in Britain. :)

  8. Yes i believe your supposed to wait the full 28 days on and off the pill before having un protected s*x.. But just wait, and see if you get your period.

  9. the chances of getting pregnant aren't too high , but it still happens . the best i can tell you is to wait for your period .. or even go for plan b [ morning after pill ] .

  10. You are completly safe. As you are on Pills. Moreover, most probably to get Pregnant, is to have the s*x during the days of Ovulation. Which is around 10 to 14th day from your 1st day of the Period. so there are rear chances of you to get Pregnant
