Question:

Unsanitary swimming pool issues?

Are there hygiene / cleanliness guidelines for privately run pools? The swim school next to my gym is generally used by school groups but gym members have access to it as well.... the thing is it is really cloudy and looks dirty, there is hair in it and you can't see 5m in front of you. My partner and i feel gross when we swim there and have started going to to pool which is further away because of it.

I have just started work for a rehab hospital that has a hydro pool and we test it everyday and it is super clean and within the 'regulations' ....... is there someone i can contact to discuss the swim center pool, i don't want to seem like i am dobbing them in, it's just that it should be allot cleaner and i think they need to lift their standards...

any help would be appreciated, cheers

  1. It depends on where you live.If a school is using it I am sure the parents would be concerned-get a few together and confront the manager.

If you are in the USA the word "attorney"or "lawyer" usually does the trick-

  2. thats what chlorine is for

  3. There are probably pool sanitation laws which would shut down the pool that you describe.  In the US, these laws are at the county or municipality level.
