If it's a Yahoo Group, you can unsubscribe yourself.  First, sign in to the Group's home page on the web.  Then click on Edit Membership near the middle of the top line (just below the ad if there is one).  Then click the Leave Group button down in the lower-right-hand corner.  Then follow the directions on the resulting page.
