Question:

Untagged accounts on my new credit report, what is wrong?

I recently signed up to Experian and received my Credit Report.

I was expected a lot more defaults on my file however i found only two. plus i have no available credit. I'm wondering why only 2 out of my 5 expected defaults are on my file and how to start upping my credit... I'm only 22 but i'd like to be in the black as soon as i can.

And help or advice would be very appreciated.

  1. There three different credit reporting agencies.  You need to get all three reports (go to annualcreditreport.com and follow the instructions).

Next, start paying back the folks you defaulted on.  The defaults/past dues will be on your record for 7 years.

Next, take out a secured credit card and use it for small purchases - only use it for things you can afford to pay back in 30 days.  When you use it, put the money aside so when the bill comes in, you will have the cash.  Do this until the bank will remove the security deposit.  When they do that, use it for another few months the same way then ask for an increase in your credit limit.  Eventually, you will get to the point where you can apply and receive another card or car loan.
