I want to watch the Perseids meteor shower from my house in southern Connecticut but I will be away until August 16th. I know that the peak of the shower is the 12th, but will there still be enough meteors to be worth watching on the 16th or 17th, or will they be too few and far between to enjoy?

  1. information about viewing times for meteor showers in  -

    www.earthsky.org/article/earth-skys-me...

  2. There's a plot of the observations made of the 2007 Perseids at http://www.imo.net/live/perseids2007/

It shows that the number of meteors had fallen to about 20% of the maximum by August 16th last year. So you should still see a few Perseids, but maybe only one every 5 minutes at a location where you might see one per minute on August 12th.
