Untold Melody expected to win TurfTV.co.uk Handicap
Untold Melody is expected to claim the TurfTV.co.uk Handicap at Catterick in England on Wednesday, July 11, 2012. A cash prize of £2,264 has been set for the winner of the class-5 event, which will feature eight runners in total.
Rain has left the ground soft in the 5 furlong 212 yard race, which is scheduled to start at 15:50 GMT. Although these conditions will test all the runners, Untold Melody is likely to shine on such a track. She has been given a starting price of 9 to 2 by the bookmakers and there is a great chance for her to attract a lot of bets from the punters.
The three-year-old filly lacks experience, but that will not be a big factor today, as most of the runners are almost in a similar position. Due to this, the pressure to perform will be lesser in this class.
Looking at the overall statistics of the Kevin Ryan’s trainee, it is pretty much clear that she does not have a good strike rate, but that does not rule her out of contention from winning the race at Catterick. She has participated in six events, winning just once.
However, the young filly has finished runner up on a couple of times in her career whereas ended up third on the same number of occasions. She made her debut in September 2011 and was unimpressive back then. The bookies had expected her to struggle and they were right in their judgement, as she finished sixth overall.
Although the result was not good for Untold Melody, yet she gained confidence from that performance, as she was up against 15 runners back then. She took part in a couple of more races afterwards and did really well in them.
Untold Melody started the 2012 season on a high, as she managed to bring up her maiden victory in her first appearance this year. She was rated as the favourite to win and she did not disappoint her fans at all, winning by one length.
Oratorio’s daughter finished third in her previous race, which shows the kind of form she is in at the moment. She will be accompanied by Phillip Makin, who is a consistent performer.
