  1. I ended up having TWO email accounts

One email I ONLY use for communications with known friends and family.  I NEVER use it for any solicitation or filling out things for the web.  The other, I use for all the websites I go to, anything public that I fill out requiring an email address that might sell the information.

Its amazing the difference.  Non of my friends and family have given up my email address for 3 years! ~smiling~

I also like the SPAM features on gMail.  They seem to work VERY well!

    Hope that helps!

    Tim

EDIT - The generators of SPAM do NOT know if you deleted something.  They only know you received something because they didnt get a return.  Sending a receipt is something inherent to MS Exchange... not webmail.

  2. Most of my junk e-mails were down to a virus, have you checked that?

Otherwise just make them all get sent to your junk folder?

  3. You can't stop them  and even if you delete them you are letting them know that you are a live site. Spam doesn't work either because your address is sold to these companies by, amongst others, yahoo so you've no chance of stopping them. This is my advice and it works.

Leave them alone and they will go home dragging their sales behind them.

  4. There is lots of anti-spam software available.Go to www.download.com    there are probably lots of free ones there.

  5. Mark it as "Spam".

  6. Spam, then everytime they send you one, it goes to that folder.  Or change your mail settings.
