Question:

Unwanted Phone Call(s)?

I am getting phone calls both on my house and cell phone from a place of business in which I terminated their services.

I have told them 3 times to STOP calling me, as I no longer wish to use their services, and yet, they keep on calling.

I know about the "do not call" list, in which case many 1-800 numbers call my house anyway, but this is a local business trying to solicit me to get their business back.

Is there an agency that I can call and report them to? It is really over the top that they call my cell phone, and I have specifically told them not to call that phone (either).

Thank you.

  1. As far as the house phone goes, I never answer it for that very reason.

I pre-screen all calls through my answering machine.

If they start leaving a message and I recognize the person I will pick it up before they finish.

90% of the time, it is a telemarketer and they never leave a message.... so... I don't have to bother with them.

If they call frequently, set the answering machine to pick-up on first ring... that way you don't have to listen to the phone ringing all the time...

If it is an important call, they will leave a message and I can return the call later, or pick it up before they finish the message.

  2. if you had servicewith a company i believe they can continue to callyou for up to 1-2 years after you have ended the serrvice withthem, thebig problem now becauseof the FDNCL is even when you dsign up, companies to get around not being allowed to call you, change thename of their company, and keep changing t to get around the law the do not call isti s for home phone and does not apply to cell phone i would strounlg sugest going to the federal do not call list web site, look at the frequebtly asked q &A and see what is alowed what si not allowe

Also remember and this is very important the do NOT prosecute every complain, they compile complaint til they have certainnumber again each company ansd then process so ifyou file a complain again company acb inc. but they do notget and more complaint againthem your falls through the crack,s that is one reason these companies keep chagng thier name that appears on your caller id, oyu may get 5 different company name calling , they are real the same ciomoany witha name chage the FCC will not do anytihng aound

  3. OK, you have done everything right so far....and now start recording your calls....!

after 3 calls its called harassment....then start telling them that you will sue....!

or ...you always can get a callerID mananger....
