Unwanted tabs opening

Question

hi,

ever since yesterday internet explorer keeps opening tabs on its own, they always go to ome sort of advertising ie alton towers ect ect.

it also will do this if i use firefox, i have run a virus scan but it still keeps doing this.

what can i do?????

what gets me is this isa brand new computer running windows vista buisiness

Probably not a virus, but a spyware program. Unfortunately, the newer the operating system, the more viruses, worms trojans etc. are written for it, so make sure that you keep the OS is fully updated.  

Does your virus detector immunise against spyware? I haven't used any in anger but have heard good reports of Spyboot Search and Destroy.

Anti-virus not work, its anti-spyware you need like Ad-Aware or SpyBot SD

Also uninstall your free browser add-on toolbars from add/remove programs because allot of them installs adware in your case. Yahoo and google are well trusted

Turn your pop up blocker on go to Tools>pop up blocker> Off -On
