Question:

Unwelcomed Lunch Member?

Today was the first day of school, and that means picking lunch tables. My bff of 10 going on 11 years is in my lunch period. She is the type of girl who is a natural beauty and has tons of friends (although I am her best friend) Anyway she sits with all of the populars. Don't get me wrong but about 3 of the 10 other girls there are my friends too.

Anyway I sat down next to my bff and the "leader" of the group just stares at me and watches me for a whole 32 seconds and scrunches her nose. I have no desire of being friends with her whatso ever but she has been known for saying nasty things to people like me who join in on her fun. It just makes me feel awkward because she stares at me like an idiot. My bff must of picked up on it because she quickly said Morgan lets go to the bathroom to do our hair over.

How do I make myself more accepted to the table?

  1. Honestly, girls like this i always avoided in highschool. Yeah, its nice and popularity has its perks...but trust me, you would be sooo much happier with friends who treated you nicer and didnt act like stuck up b*****s like the "leader" of your group. I was in a group up until i was in 7th grade...they made my life a living h**l until i got to high school. The sad thing is, the "leader" was also my best friend. We had so much fun together...but when all the other girls were around, she acted like a completely different person..You would be so much happier with friends who understood and accepted you more. When i got away from my group, i started hanging out with girls who were nicer...and ive been best friends with the same girl now for almost 7 years..Good luck!

  2. Just be nice to all of them, even the horrible girl, and give them nothing to be horrible to you about. They will soon realise that you are a nice person.

  3. Hoo boy - cliques.  They're about as friendly and welcoming as the IRS.  At any rate - a persons favorite thing to talk about is themselves.  If you want to be more accepted - ask the other girls you don't know more about themselves...I'm sure they'll love to tell you.  If it were me, though, I'd take a cautious step backward.  Away from them.  But that's me.
