Up The Girls expected to win Connacht Spring Show May 20th Handicap Hurdle
Up The Girls has a very good chance of winning the Connacht Spring Show May 20th Handicap Hurdle at Ballinrobe in Ireland on Tuesday, May 1, 2012. A total of 70 runners have lined up for action in the race, but the non-runners are not confirmed. The final
list of participants will be available on the race day.
The stamina of all runners will be put to a stern test, as the overall distance to cover will be 2 miles and 4 furlongs. The race is scheduled to start at 18:55 GMT.
Although the list of runners for this race is very long, following runners are expected to make an impression: Whitehead Lad, Sun Fisher, Craigs Dream, Gentle Cloud, Sids Choice, Up The Girls, Littletown Lass, Banna Beach, Cill Airne, Ponmeword, Lucky Pigeon,
Millenarys Lady, Bank The Bucks, Wings Of A Star, Chapter Eleven, Storm Breaker, Dont Tell De Purty and Muskatsturm.
Out of the above mentioned runners, Up The Girls is likely to attract the maximum number of bets in her favour on Tuesday. She has got plenty of experience in races over hurdles, thus the bookies will have full faith in her abilities.
The eight-year-old mare has participated in 14 hurdles until now, but she has never managed to win any. The best she could manage was the runner up position on three occasions, but she will need a stronger effort than that in order to finish on top of the
table.
The K. A. Heffernan’s trainee has won three PTP events out of 21 attempts, which shows that she has the potential to deliver strong results. Her recent form has not been bad at all, but she seems to lack stamina to win races.
In her most recent race, Up The Girls took the fourth place, despite starting as the favourite to win. She was up against some good runners, but the bookies expected her to dominate the proceedings. However, she disappointed one and all back then. She is
not carrying good momentum at the moment, thus the punters might hesitate to place bets in her favour.
Young jockey, R. J. Jones is likely to partner the race favourite on Tuesday. He is a promising rider, but needs to perform with consistency.
