  1. answer: ANYONE who thinks hurricanes, fires, earthquakes or anything else is "God's judgment" should be flogged with a whip with metal tips on the strands!

Real people die during these things! Thousands can be left homeless.  What does the Bible Belt of the US do against "God" every year?  I mean He really takes a dislike to them with all the tornadoes tearing through the states.  Or the dirt poor people in the Ninth Ward of New Orleans? God spared the rich and "sinful" Mardi Gras area but zapped the poor.  Or what did Slidell, LA ever do against God?

Keep your frickin' judgments and self-righteous wishful thinking.

  2. No I say that hurricanes are natural weather patterns. Simple as that.

  3. Oh my Gosh - haven't you read the Bible? God does not do these things. I think you're watching too much Oprah and Katie Couric. Doesn't your question embarass you?

  4. Not at all. Its hurricane season. I wish people would stop blaming God for everything. Its a natural disaster, not the Apocalypse.

  5. I am in Baton Rouge about to get slammed by huricane Gustov and probably Hanna.

Concerning your question, no one can be absolutely sure what purpose God has with these hurricanes. But in my opinion, since the United States is the world leader for immorality, materialism and a host of other ungodly matters... I'd say that this is a step in chastising the United States.

The financial loss suffered is likely a positioning for things to come in bible prophecy concerning where the United States is headed.

  6. I'm thinking meteorology explains it

I suggest reading up on it

  7. Answer: As someone who did not get out of New Orleans before Katrina due to a lack of transportation, you do not realize how insensitive this question is.  I was there for almost a week before I could be evacuated out.

I'm now in the process of packing my car -- on the other end of the state -- to get out of the way of Gustav.  This is absolutely NOT a judgment of God on the people who live along the Louisiana coast and are working regular jobs and are devout practitioners of their religions.

  8. Honestly there will be just as many people say that this is mother nature's way of punishing us for abusing the lands. Global warming and all that you know...

  9. if god truly does exist then theyre his signs saying "GTFOH"(get the **** out of here)

if anybody moves back to new orleans after this hurricane then they arent very good at catching hints

im an atheist and even i think if there are many disasters somewhere then something or someone doesnt want you to be there

  10. It's just part of the fulfillment of latter days prophesy.

  11. I think it's heat in the oceans being released in the form of kinetic energy. But that's just me.

  12. No, its mother nature, who is far stronger than God.

  13. There have been more hurricanes and they have been more intense than normal in the past few years partially because of global warming and partially because of random chance.

    ____

  14. Hurricanes have been hitting the American coast long before people were here, it has nothing to do punishment of any kind.

  15. Although there will be an increase in the violence of the weather, earthquakes etc the nearer we get to the end, it doesn't mean that God is behind it. The Bible is simply predicting future events. I honestly don't believe that what we see today is any indication of that as of yet. As far as God punishing people with such things, I highly doubt it. The Bible tells us this---- James 1:13   "Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone."

Sending hurricanes upon someone to deliberately kill them is tempting with evil and God does not work that way. I will say this when God does sends His judgment upon this world, there will be no mistaking it, we will most definately know. If you search Scripture, especially Revelation and compare those judgments with what we see today, there is no comparison. Revelation is God's judgment, our weather is simply that, weather.

Suzie, I too went through Katrina as well as Wilma when I lived in Florida for a while. Wilma touched off a tornado in my back yard. Being from Michigan,  I have been picked up by a tornado while driving down the road and I have also seen and felt the monstrous power of an F5 tornado close up which was a very frightening and humbling experience. I've also been through thunderstorms that literally shook the ground and blizzards that brought everything to a standstill for days at a time.. I guess what I'm saying is that what we see today  are bad but nothing like the future holds.

  16. No. Hurricanes are natural occurrences, nothing supernatural about them.

  17. It's the effects of global warming. So yeah you could say that we've pushed MOTHER NATURE to far and she is fighting back. Maybe it's her will that we see the harm we are doing before it's to late to help ourselves or our planet. Yep, maybe it is the will of the God's/Goddesses.

  18. To assume that a natural disaster is a message from God is wrong.  A hurricane is a force of nature.  The mind of God cannot be determined by physical events in the universe.

  19. Hurricanes are not part of the correctional system.
