  1. Whilst in the majority of parts in central london you are safe at all times, there are always people walking about with all forms of transport passing you. Regent's Street and Oxford Street are very safe. If you are on your own you will have to be more carefull obviously but with another person you'll be fine with no need to worry. Central London is probably one of the safest places in England due to the amount of people. You do have to watch out for pick pocketers but that is nothing from stabbings and so on, even though stabbings are often in the london area they are further out in the suburbs. I am 16 and me and my friends have always been out late from concerts making our own way back home to Kensington. Next one will be We Are Scientists at Sommerset House, that shall be a late night. Most parents from anywhere else in the country would say that is iresponsible of our parents but in central london it's pretty safe!

have fun what ever you are doing

  2. I would say, as a man and a Londoner - at absolutely any time. These areas really aren't dangerous, and there will usually alwaysbe other people (often large numbers of people - even at 3 or 4 in the morning) about.

Obviously different people have different perceptions of what feels safe - but honestly, in that area (although not, say, Soho), I don't think you should have any particular reason to worry.

  3. Those areas are always busy, with a constant stream of buses and taxis going past on those two roads in particular, so I'd say they're never unsafe.

However, it's obviously a slightly different story on the side-streets, but even then, the substantial number of clubs and bars off of Oxford Street means that there are a few bouncers around at all times to keep trouble in check... though of course there are also rowdy drunks.

On balance, that's probably the worst you're likely to encounter.

  4. Wherever you are likely to be at night as a tourist will be safe, as there will be lots of activity.  I would be a bit more careful at night to avoid quiet side streets, and I would be careful in the Tube stations near the end of their runs, but,all in all, central London is safe, except for normal petty crime.  For your own piece of mind, wear your handbag across your body, if you use one.  Guys should put their wallets in their front pocket or use a waist or neck zippered bag.

And you are on CCTV cameras everywhere you go.  We have made many trips to London at different times of year, staying in different hotels in the centre, and we feel quite secure.

    Have a wonderful trip.
