Upbeat Julio Cesar Chavez Junior excited for his first world title bout – Boxing news
Chavez Junior, son of the legendary boxing champion Julio Cesar Chavez, is pretty excited to step into the ring for his first world title against Sebastian Zbik this Saturday.
The current World Boxing Council’s Silver Middleweight Champion, Julio Cesar Chavez, will take on the current World Boxing Council’s Middleweight Champion of the world, Sebastian Zbik, on Saturday, June 4, 2011 in Los Angeles for his first world title.
The unbeaten 25-year-old Chavez, who has won 42 fights with 30 knockouts, is especially excited on having the bout in the same city where his father won his first world title.
While speaking on his inclusion, he said, “I'm very excited to be fighting for my first world title in the same city where my father won his first world title. I know how important this fight is for me and my career. But right now I’m not even thinking about
that. I’m thinking about my fight.”
Chavez reckons it is the perfect opportunity for him to create his own history.
He told the media, “This is the perfect opportunity for me to create my own history. My name is Julio Cesar Chavez and I’m very proud to carry that name. I am ready right now to win the title and decide my own history and my own legacy.”
Julio Cesar ‘The Legend Goes on’ Chavez junior also commented on his opponent Zbik. He stated Zbik has not fought since his last win over Argentina’s Jorge Sebastian, which was in held in Hamburg back in July 2010. He also knows this is going to be the first
time for Zbik to fight outside Europe and therefore he is confident he will defeat the German champion.
“I am confident after all the work I have done. I feel this is the time for me to step up,” Chavez said.
He also claimed this is going to be his best ever performance, as everyone in the crowd will be supporting him.
