wat are some things to get myself mentally ready (im 17 yrs old and its my first fight)

  1. That first match is the hardest and there is nothing you can do but tell your self i want to win. Try not to think to much about it as no matter how prepared you try to be on fight nite it will mean nothing. Going up the steps to the ring and through the ropes will be the first challenge but once the fight begins if your like most fighters i trained after the first good punch to hit you it will no longer be like you had imagined. And now all; your training and preparations will hopefully take over and you leave the ring victorious.Good Luck..

Actually, my advice is going to be somewhat different from some other people's.  Tell yourself it's important that you step in the ring and gain this experience and do your best.  Tell yourself that, although you'll try to win, it's not really important whether you win or lose--it's important that you do this and do your best.  

    View your first fight as a test of your courage and an opportunity to begin to gain experience boxing in a real fight.  If you do this, you can be proud, win or lose!

  4. Don't get nervous.

    Get to know the other fighters style.

    Hopefully it isn't the first and last.
