As the plethora of fresh blood continues to flow in, the current snooker players will have to give way to the new talent. As the law of nature suggests that nothing stays forever, unfortunately the current snooker players dominating the scene will fall victims
to entropy.
As the current snooker muscles will decay with the passage of time, and the young talent with improvised skills and abilities will challenge the old and eventually replace them.
This article covers up the prospects who are likely to be the next lot of snooker champions.
Mark Selby – He is the most promising and talented among the potential world champions, as he has already climbed his way up to the 16th spot in world rankings.
Mark Selby has knocked out some of the renowned cue-men in-order to reach the final stages of world snooker championships twice, however he has not been able to clinch the titles yet.
Mark is an astounding and challenging player, as he has proved it by beating Ronnie O’Sullivan in a tense final of the Masters in 2010. Mark has all the potential to become the next world champion, and he has proved his skills and talent over the years.
Although Mark has been able to win just one ranking title so far in his professional career, he has all the charisma and energy to shine in the up and coming years.
Mark Joyce – world number-47 Mark Joyce is a fine cueist from England. Mark has enjoyed a superb amateur career, winning the European under-19 championship in 2001. Mark has also picked up English open title in 2005 as well as English amateur
championship in 2006.
Mark Joyce has been able to pull off astonishing up sets in UK championship 2010, as he made his way to the quarter-final of the second most prestigious ranking tournament.
Mark defeated world number three Ali Carter and Judd Trump to reach the quarter-final of the UK championship; unfortunately, he lost the match to the seasoned Mark Williams.
Mark Joyce has proved his worth in the tournament, and many snooker experts consider him as the future champion of snooker.
Judd Trump – The 21-years-old Judd from England is another young cueist to shine as a snooker star in future. Trump has an attacking playing style and has enjoyed a gloomy amateur career.
The world number-26 is talk of the town as he has proved his talent over the years in a marvellous manner. What he lacks at this stage of his career is the experience of break building, and nerves to drag the match into the final stages and win it from there.
Judd has enjoyed an astounding early amateur career, as he has won both the English under-13 and under-15 champion titles.
Liang Wenbo – As his Chinese counterpart is shining on the world snooker scene right now, many snooker critics foresee Wenbo as the next star of the East.
The 23-years-old Liang is China’s number-2 snooker player after Ding Junhui. The left handed cueist is nicknamed ‘the fearless’ for his challenging and aggressive playing style.
World number-24 Wenbo has many distinctions up his sleeves which he earned during his amateur non-professional career; by all means, he is the next Ding Junhui of snooker.
Jack Lisowski – Jack is another young talented and promising snooker player from England. Jack is fighting with cancer as well as some senior snooker players this year in the ‘German masters’.
19-years-old Jack has made it to the last stages of the first ranking tournament of his professional career.
Thanawat Thirapongpaiboon – The long named fellow from Thailand has come up to the scene in a solid fashion. Nick named Thai-Namite, snooker experts consider him to be the next James Wattana for Thailand.
The 17-years-old Thanawat has also qualified for the final stages of German masters. This amazing player is now the youngest player ever to score 147 and a potential snooker champion.
All these above mentioned snooker players are the future of snooker in years to come, however there are number of young talented and skilled players such as Luca Brecel, Jamie Cope, and Ryan Day.
