Upcoming tours are a big challenge for India, says http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Duncan-c54739 Fletcher
Newly appointed Indian coach Duncan Fletcher is hopeful that India will maintain its winning streak in the upcoming tours of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746.
Fletcher feels that the upcoming tours are going to be a huge challenge for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 and they will be under pressure to do really well being the number one Test team of the world and also the world champions in One Day International cricket.
Indian coach believes that future tours are going to be difficult because playing away from home is always a challenge for any team, especially for India because conditions outside sub-continent are quite different.
He rated England’s tour as the most difficult because of their recent form as Andrew Strauss and company won the Ashes 2010-11 comprehensively and have been very consistent in the longer version of the sport.
However, Fletcher feels that the Australian tour will not be as hard because their performance has been on a decline in recent past after the retirement of some of the great players of the game.
Fletcher said, “They are going to be difficult tours, especially as to how well they (India) play in their home grounds. When you tour to some opposition's backyard, it is very difficult. From our point of view, going to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 will be a hard task as they
are playing some very good cricket at the moment. Going to Australia, they are slightly on a rebuilding process.”
He feels that the senior Indian cricketers have the capacity to cope with this challenge. India has been doing pretty well in international cricket since the last couple of years and their new coach believes that http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mahendra-Singh-Dhoni-c73820 and the senior players
are capable of carrying on with the same momentum in future as well.
Former Zimbabwean captain added very humbly that he can play a role in helping India maintain their winning ways.
"It is a challenge. As I said, with the players and the captain that they have and the seniors, they can maintain their momentum. Hopefully, I can add some value somewhere along the line," he said.
