Update my ipod touch??

Question

i hacked my ipod and it has a bunch of apps on it... should i update it to 2.0 and louse all of the apps, to get the ones on itunes or keep the hacked version??

Well, you could do either. Both ways have their advantages and disadvantages. For instance, if you don't update it to 2.0, and keep it jail broken, it may not be all that safe. However, as you've quite possibly noticed, you can do a variety of things that you can't do otherwise. But like I said it's not as safe. If you update it to 2.0, it'll cost around $9.99. Although, you can get many great and useful applications, some of them being free. And it's safer. But keep in mind that there'll be some lag at the beginning. I would recommend you update it to 2.0. I upgraded to 2.0 and lost my jailbreak. I wouldn't do it again. Some of the Apps in Installer work better than the ones in the App store. And they cost money.

im pretty sure that when you use custom firmware (i.e. hack it) that you go off a different firmware version.

if you try and use offiicial FW you will most likely break it.
