HI,
There are two ways to fix this problem:
1)Uninstall WMP11 and download other version of Wmp say 10 or 9.
You can download that from HERE
2)Use other player like Real media
player or VlC player these two are the best.

This worked! I got the files to play. I rolled back to Wmp
version 10. However, now the files play at like double speed or something. I
even went to slow speed on Wmp and I'm still getting Alvin and the Chipmunks. I erased all of the
files from the DVR on my pc
and tried to play them directly from the DVR.
Same thing. When I click on view--statistics on Wmp while the file is playing
I'm told that the recording
was at 32 kbps. I recorded another file at 8
kbps and it still is playing at super speed. Please help.
