Is it times waste to mourn a friend.

Time spent in minds images.

Pictures viewed of pleasant time,

Remembered slights of bickering fights.

Thoughts dwell on that or this not said.

Left for other day,now lost away.

My friend has gone, I miss him.

Long for sagacious talk,

Games of golf,drinks of beer.

No,am I silly to shed this tear.

Gone friend,hole left to putt.

I,have the time to waste.

To the morn my friend.

Dedicated to John Davies.

  3. Very good, Sir. When I was 4, my family hosted Arnold Palmer when he won at Birkdale. I don't remember it, but I can say I ate dinner with Arnie. Mom still tells the story of when she cooked it. Skulthorpe RAFB, 1961.

  5. This is a lovely tribute, full of compassion and touching reflection.  The lines are carefully wrought and flow smoothly.  Anyone who has ever lost a friend could relate to these eloquent thoughts.  Thank you.
