Hello, im currently trying to figure out if my netgear WGT624 modem is up to date with all the firmware i should have. Unfortunatly, do not really know how to. Heres how i am currently set up to make sure im doing something right.

y home pc is downstairs and my laptop upstairs. I have brought my laptop downstairs and connected it directly with a cable into the modem for i have heard it needs to be like that when updating the firmware. In addition i am trying to download he firmware update on the laptop( is tha possible, im really confused.

Anyway i found the update here.

http://kbserver.netgear.com/products/WGT624v3.asp

Now, if hat is righ, how would i correctly update it. Would i do this on the laptop thats connected or home pc??

Could someone please help

  1. Don’t update if there isn’t anything wrong with your Internet connection.  If you install the wrong update you may not be able to get back on the Internet with it.  Either way just be careful.

  2. Yes, download the firmware to your pc.  Log onto the router (hardwired only!) and find the Maintenance-->router upgrade page, browse to the file you downloaded, and click upload.
