Ok so my Graphics card is way out of date along with my PC but what I want to know is if I install a new graphics card, will it make my PC run slower & if it does what else would need to be updated to do this?

Would I be better off buying a PS3 for $700 Australian or Updating my PC.

Thanks for your help

  1. on cmaprison fo getting aPS3 or updating your PC its a case between which games you like, both will knock out great grpahic,s both cna do the whoel movie/music/photos web browsing thing etc. so nto a huge diffrnece.

If you isntall a new grpahics card it will speed up your Pc, but you may need to increase RAM and possibly get a better CPU to avoid bottle necks.

8600, 2gb of ram and a COre 2 2.2ghz duo will be a okay gmaing rig, dont expect Crysis o nfull but its not too bad an upgrade, 8800GTs, 2-3GB of RAM and a Core 2 2.4ghz Quad core woudl be a altihgt rig.

9800GTS, Core 2 2.66ghz Quad 3-4 GB of ram would be an aweosme rig, but very expenisvE (way more than PS3, possibly double, thoug hthe grpahics would be great on this rig for years to come)

though what ghz Core 2 you get may not matter, as msot core2's are easy to OC anyway, so a 2.4 Quad can easily be turned itn o a 2.66ghz and its nealry half the price.

  2. Get a PS3 for your gaming needs and keep your computer for work.

  3. we need more info on your pc first.
