I'm trying to learn how the stock market works. I joined this site and as of right now i believe I'm a long term investor but I want to look into short term. But I don't understand the market enough on when to buy and sell or where to get free information from. Also what are all the buying and selling meaning, such as selling short and whatnot?

  1. investopedia.com can help you with the glossary, and some articles they have there are also helpful. Another site I would recommend is wikipedia.org.

  2. Use an online brokerage firm that has good beginner qualitys {like tutorials or easy to understand set up}, i use zecco, better then schwab, etrade, etc. they are the only ones with free stock trades, no minumums..
