Upgrade from windows pro 2000 to xp for free?

Question

how do i upgrade my windows 2000 pro. to xp for free. I have no money to buy the program. can anyone help me?

I wouldn't call XP an upgrade sinse Microsoft pull the plug on it .There is no legal way to get a free copy of windows from Mr Gates.

You can't get it for free, unless someone else is buying it for you.  Microsoft Windows (any version) is a commercial application and they sell you a license to use the software.  If you really want to get a cheap copy though, look to buy a used copy from someone who has switched from XP to Vista.  Just make sure that it is a retail copy and that the seller has uninstalled it from their system.  If they did an upgrade purchase, I believe the older OS must remain with them.

You can't.  MS doesn't give stuff away for free.  Also, at this time it's nearly impossible to obtain the Windows XP Upgrade CD that you will require.  Now that Vista's out on the shelves MS wants you to buy that.
