Upgrade the alternator or battery for my system?

I just purchased the new 08 Kicker L5 12's, two of them. I'm going to be running a true 1200w RMS throughout my system and this worries me as my car has over 200,000 miles on it. I am already in the process of doing the BIG 3 upgrade, and am looking at getting a HO alternator or a Kinetik battery.....I've searched high and low for a HO alternator for my vehicle with no luck, so my next option is to upgrade the battery. Can I upgrade my main battery to possibly a Kinetik HC1800 or 2000 and run it off my stock alternator? Or will this put too much strain on it? What other options or possibilities are out there for my situation? Thanks a ton in advance.....

think about it.... if your stock alternator is old plus its not designed for the huge power demand of a sound system... why do you think it will be able to charge 2 batteries and power the sound system?

if you add a battery, the alternator will die quick.

since you have searched but cant find anything for a H.O. Alt... then keep searching. look out for Excessive Amperage, Iraggi Alternators... i can only think of those 2 off the top of my head.

your best bet will be getting the biggest Alt you can get because if u go with a medium size alt.... and later on you notice it doesnt charge good and ur lights still dim.... well what a waste of money. just go big off the start. plus, i bet you will be adding other stuff in the future to the vehicle lol.

for the big3 and all the power wires for the install, use 1/0 gauge or the thickest you can find. this will provide for the best current flow.

for the best battery option, go to kinetiks website and they have a form you fill out and it will tell you the best battery option for the install.
