Upgradeing old 3000 Demension?

Im getting ready to update my computer and its an old Dell Dimension 3000 getting a better graphics card and need to update my power supplie to update it and was wondering if this PSU would work http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182021

the main question is with the 20+4 pin if the extra 4 can be pulled off and i can just use the 20 cause thats what my mother board needs..

yes you can, thats why its called "20+4 pin", as the some motherboards use 20 but most 24 pin power.

also i recommend getting a branded power supply
