Question:

Upgrading a Disneyland Annual Pass?

I just bought a Southern California Select Disneyland Annual Pass... I assumed I could upgrade to a better season pass later if I wanted to, but after reading through the annual pass info I'm not sure if I could. It's clear you can upgrade from a ticket, but can you also upgrade to a better annual pass FROM an annual pass? Has anyone done this? Thanks :)

  1. Absolutely, we have done so.

Simply take your passport and your $$ to the bank on mainstreet and they will help you out. If you arrive on a blackout day you will need to go to a ticket window and buy a discounted blackout day ticket (around $30.00) BUT if you bring it with you to the bank they will apply that to your passport - Also if you are upgrading all the way to Premium bring your parking ticket too and they will refund it for that day

  2. No, this cannot be done. Sorry! :[

Unless you get a really good castmember who's in a generous mood.

  3. Yes you can upgrade all the way to the premium pass which is 379.00 and ur pass was 129.00 so all you have to pay is the 250.00 difference and you can upgrade but your expiration date will stay the same

  4. The above answer is wrong.  Of course you can always upgrade to a higher level pass.

There were a couple of ways that they do this.  The first is you just pay the difference between the two passes.  The second way is that in the past(so I can't guarantee if this is still accurate) they could give you a credit for unused months.  You would then apply that credit to the full price of the new pass.

The main difference between the two is that when you just pay the difference you keep your current expiration date, when you get the credit the new pass is good for 1 year from the date of the new pass.

Now one catch is that they will not allow you to upgrade to a pass that has a blockout date that you are doing the upgrade.  That is if you upgrade from the SoCal Select to the SoCal, but the SoCal is blocked out on the day you won't be able to.
