Question:

Upgrading a Squier Strat?

I have relatively new Squier Affinity Strat HSS that I got in late April.

It currently has the stock pick-ups and humbucker. I was interested in changing them because they get pretty noisy and such when I turn the gain up.

What are some pickups (neck & middle) and a humbucker (bridge) that I could get to put on my Squier?

Also note that I'd want these replacements to be something that I could take out and install on a better guitar; when I get one.

  1. I would just get a new guitar to be honest with you. I would do some research and find out what kind of pick ups your favorite bands use.

  2. Hi CJ

Buy Seymour Duncan. They are the cleanest and they have clean output. When you use them with a distortion unit, the sustain is very smooth and clean.

You can always remoe them later on as this does not damage the guitar in any way nor the pickups.
