Question:

Upgrading factory car stereo system?

I have a 99' Honda Civic sedan

My rear 6x9s are gone so I was thinking of replacing all of the speakers, front and rear. I don't need a system to let people down the street know Im coming, but enough so that i can hear the bass good. The factory speakers almost got the job done. I listen to a lot of rap and hiphop.

These are the ones Im looking at:

Front: http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=19661

Rear:

Im also thinking of putting in an amp.

Can I get some ideas or comments?

Thanks.

  1. No objection to your speaker selection.  And yes, if you amplify them, you'll definitely bring them to life.  I would recommend adding a single sub to your system to give you that added punch you're missing.  With that in mind, when you look for an amplifier, you can look for a good 5-channel amp to make it all easier for you.  A single 12" can add enough emphasis to that low-end bass  and at the same time not take up too much room in the trunk.
