Upgrading ford f-150 speakers?

I am looking to buy some better speakers for my f150.

It is a 1998 v8 extended cab version. I would like to know what size speakers I need, possibly a few suggestions, and anything I may need to install them.

I have a sony xplod stereo and I am not planning on running a sub woofer. I like mid base, nothing too loud or heavy, but I dont want to blow my speakers. I mostly listen to rock/alternative

  1. if your looking something between 50 - 100 for 4 speakers that's not gonna leave you much room to play with.  Your speakers should be 5x7/6x8 size(they are technically both the same size so either will work).  There are Pioneer speakers or Sony speakers that are typically 60 per set of two so 120 for all four.  These as middle of the road speakers but should be a definite upgrade from factory.  TS-G6842R are the Pioneer and XSGT5725A.  i typically shop at Circuit City so you can find anyone of those there.  if you want something with a little more bass to them i suggest Polks which typically go for $100 dollars a set but you might wanna start looking into a 4ch amp when you get into these because they may similar to the middle of the road speakers till you power them right.

  2. polk audio or infinity

    Good luck.
