Can you mount an Intel 1.60ghz Core Duo T2060 478-FCPGA onto a motherboard with a i943/940GML cipset and replace that old celeron M?

YES YOU CAN! Intel says it won't work and ive been on many forums saying the same...well it does!

Note: This experiment has been CONFIRMED on an Acer Aspire 3690-2xxx. Replaceing an intel Celeron M 520 to an intel core duo 1.60ghz (works fine, i diddnt even have to update my bios). It is also CONFIRMED that you can mount a Core 2 Duo to such a chipset.

  1. Ha ha, You have only half right. There'a no i943/940GML chipset, it can be or i943 or 940GML. If You have 943 You can, If You have 940glm Your only options are celerons and core solo. And no program will tell You for sure which chipset You have. Only reading markings directly from chip will give You the answer.
