Upgrading to vista from XP service pack 2?

I have a Motherboard + Video Card that's primed for vista but seems stable on XP. I was thinking about getting vista home premium. Giving the option to get vista and the compatability grew since last year and bug fixes. Should i get it?

Hi, my name's Cody, and I'm working with the Windows Vista Outreach Team to help answer questions users might have about Vista.

Since I don’t know much about your particular computer setup, probably the best piece of advice I can share with you that might help you make your decision is a document released by Microsoft, one that outlines all the differences between XP and Vista.  Here’s the link:  http://download.microsoft.com/download/3...   The choice to upgrade or not is totally up to you, but this document will give you a great place to start as far as information gathering goes, and will hopefully help you make a good decision.

You’re right, there have been quite a few compatibility issues with Vista and other hardware/software, and quite a few of them have been fixed.  There’s still definitely some pieces of hardware and software that aren’t totally compatible though, so I’d recommend that you make use of the Vista Compatibility Center, which you can find at http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compati...

Use this website to verify that any and all of your hardware and software is Vista compatible before you make the switch.  The site also gives you tons of links to places where you can get recent drivers and/or updates that will help you make sure that whatever device or program will run smoothly with Vista.

I hope this answer was of some help to you!

    Thanks,

    Cody

  3. I wouldn't bother upgrading to vista.  If your getting a new computer get vista, not xp.  Vista isn't worth it unless you have some specific reason.

  4. Nah Vista is a system hog by itself. XP is fine
