Question:

Uploading a video?

I'm trying to upload a video from a camcorder to my computer. There are multiple problems with this:

1. It's a VHS tape, so i can't just stick it into my computer.

2. I don't know if it has a usb cord and if it does i have no idea where it is.

3. There is a memory stick in it, but again, i have no idea how to get the video on to the memory stick.

Now for my questions:

The camera is a Sony Dcr-tvr11 (quite a few years old).

1. Is there a usb cord for it? Can you give me a link to where i can buy it (preferably in a store such as Target, Best Buy etc.)

2. Do you know how to transfer it to the memory stick/ can you give a link showing how to?

Thanks in advance.

  1. Dcr-tvr11, a miniDV vcam, must be iLink / FIREWIRE400**-connected to pc to upload video thru video capture or video editing* software while vcam is ON PLAYBACK.  Note: DV or Firewire port of vcam is 4pin. Before cable purchase** (Vcam/4pin=>firewireCABLE=>PC (4/ 6pin?), check pc for DV or firewire port, whether 4 or 6 pin. If none, install firewire card: pci for pc or pcmcia for laptop.
