Uploading videos to my computer?

when i upload videos from my camera to my computer, it only works with one of my cameras. I'm getting a new camera, and i don't want to buy it and find out that i can't upload videos to my computer. when they're uploaded, and i click on them to play them, it pops up, and it's just a black screen. the video doesn't play. on my mom's camera, it's a black screen with the sound of the video. my friend came over and we made all these videos, and when i uploaded them to my computer, it was just a black screen with no sound at all. how can i fix this?

could you watch other video that wasn't imported from your camara.

If not then you might require the movie Codec. just google it and install.

If that doesn't work you could use VLC media player.

After download VLC and installed.

Right click your movie file > Select Open with > select VLC
