I got an Immigrant visa to the US,

I found this line at the end of the visa,

upon endorsement services as temporary I-551 evidencing permanent residence for 1 year

Can some one explain to me the meaning of this line please??

dose that mean I have to stay there ( atleast ) for 1 year to get the green card ??
