Upon reaching 5th Dan level (Master), Is there any history of a Purple strip running round the centre of the, to signify the fact that you are 5th Dan Master ?

I have seen Korean stles that have different color stripe thruhg he center of the Black belt noting what the dgree is.

i believe something like this might be school or organization specific. it is hard to say without more info.

I have seen yellow (in Korean styles) and red in other styles, but never purple.

it doesn't happen in Japan for sure...

maybe another art though...
