  1. I presume you're a student about to come to Manchester as that is in the university area as well as the location of Manchester Royal Infirmary.

It's surrounded by Lonsight, Hulme and Fallowfield and about five minutes walk away from Moss Side and is very much an inner city location.

I don't wish to frighten you, but you need to know that the main industries in that area are robbery and drugs, I policed the area for many years and can tell you you need to be on your guard!

If you are a student, you'll be given a safety talk at the uni given by a friend of mine. Take his advice and you should be OK.

Accommodation can be expensive due to the proximity of the uni and the hospital.

You are local to the nationally famous 'curry mile', there's no shortage of bars, and you're only a 10 minute bus ride from the city centre.

  2. Whitworth Park is better than Plymouth Grove and Upper Brook St

But for that general area I would recommend Ladybarn and Withington as much better to meet your needs
