  1. all chiropractors are quacks. Don't risk your life.

  2. I've gotten a type of Upper Cervical Adjustment called NUCCA. It's extremely gentle and doesn't involve force or torquing the neck (www.nucca.org)

  3. Quack, quack, quack. And DANGEROUS to boot. Snake oil salesmen are about as effective, and possibly less dangerous.

Go see a real doctor. Any dr. who promises you a "free adjustment" for referring a patient is a QUACK.

  4. While chiropractic itself is nothing more than a version of  a massage, with lots of pseudoscientific mumbo-jumbo attached....chiropractic manipulation of the neck is potentially dangerous.  Admittedly It is rare, but there have been documented cases of dissection of vertebral arteries causing strokes and death after chiropractic neck adjustments.

Chiropractic is generally safe, and because it is basically a form of massage/spinal manipulative therapy it may actually provide short term relief from minor muskulo-skeletal low back pain. (it doesn't cure anything, and lots of people seem to get addicted to their regular "tuneups")  DD Palmers silly idea of "innate energy" being blocked as the cause of all disease is without scientific merit.  It has unfortunately led to some of the wackier chiro ideas (treatment of diabetes, anti-vaccination, chiro of babies and children)

While most chiros do mean well, and probably are convinced (deluded) that they help people, they are quacks.

  5. be very careful.

ask for references before letting anyone manipulate your neck.!!!!!!!!!!

sports medicine pt - acupressure with stretches  -is safer.

if you have ms don't ever let anyone do chiro on your neck.

  6. A dangerous technique that has left several people seriously injured.

    See the reference:

  7. Chiropractic (of all kinds) is the safest possible treatment you can receive for any type of pain.

Just taking an Asparin has a 30 times more chance of causing a deadly reaction (that shows you how ridiculously safe Chiropractic is).

Meanwhile 275,000 people a year die from medical mistakes and drug interactions in the US alone EACH YEAR!!!  (That number comes from the SURGEON GENERAL!!!)

Basically any good Chiropractor should be able to help with an upper cervical problem, and there are many methods to accomplish it.  I myself find toggle recoil uncomfortable, but that's just me.

Don't listen to these ignorant, deluded lunatics - Chiropractic is safe and effective.

  8. Actually no one who has responded knows the story.  Upper cervical methods do not involve the twisting or cracking of traditional chiropractic.  There are virtually no injuries from this method.  There is no rotation to the upper cervical spine performed and it is perhaps one of the most gentle forms of care.  It is a very old system.  Many report great benefits from the care.   Upper cervical chiropractic generally referrs to what is called the "toggle recoil" or sometimes a low force instrument is used.  I am not going to address whether it is effective.  But I can assure you that this method is extremely safe.  It is not the same as "upper cervical chiropractic manipulation"  So remember if the people posting scare you be aware that they do not even know what it is.  There is no cracking, twisting at all.
