For the past month, I have been having pains in my upper left shoulder when I put my hand up in the air. It is like there is a needle poking me and it goes on for about 2 minutes. Can you please tell me what it might be?

  1. I have the same problem, somehow I strained it and after 6 months of varying degrees of pain I was referred to a pain management specialist. He diagnosed it as a muscle problem and gave me an injection of local anesthetic and steroids and it cured me over night. I have spent the last month pain free but may need to have the injection done again in the future.

  2. this might be a strain of the rotator cuff..

a muscle that controlles the movement in the shoulder, i tore myne a few days ago, but its okay now:D
