Uprise upbeat ahead of Glenfiddich Handicap
Since the George Margarson trained bay gelding, Uprise, won the MG Law Education And Social Care Law Maiden Stakes at Doncaster, his confidence level is sky-rocketing. Capitalizing on this momentum, the young horse will deliver a winning performance in the
Glenfiddich Handicap that is scheduled to take place at Newmarket racecourse on Friday, August 24.
Beating the eight worthy rivals in the Class 3 race will not be easy, but the three-year-old talented gelding is likely to apply his utmost firepower to bring home the cash prize worth £7,116.
Uprise will be given a good to firm track of 7 furlongs to test his racing credentials. He faced such sort of race conditions in just the second start of his career that began in July 2011. That was a pleasant experience as he finished 3rd against
a dozen of contestants.
Since the beginning of the calendar year, the brilliant son of Pivotal out of Soar has been in good form. After getting the runner-up rank in the 32Red Handicap on April 30, he repeated the same in the Ladbrokes Handicap on June 18.
The Pitfield Partnership owned maverick sprinter managed to break his maiden on June 29 at Doncaster that had the good track. He went on to finish 3rd in the Goresbridge Breeze Up Sale Handicap, held at Windsor on July 23.
During the last couple of weeks, Uprise had a lot of schooling to improvise his running techniques and fixing some of his fault lines. Now, he seems to be well-prepared for the mega marathon.
With just a few hours left in the beginning of the contest, no rider has been finalised yet. It is expected that Ryan Moore will come to drive the gelding. If this happens, Uprise’s chances to win will increase further.
Despite the fact that all the odds go to the gelding’s favour, he will have to be wary of Al Wajba who has a lot of potential to cause an upset. The William Haggas trained chestnut filly has gained two runner-up ranks along with a grand victory since May
2012; thus, she is packed with momentum at the momentum.
Let us catch the live action. Good luck to the entire line-up.
