Question:

Upscale and Romantic Restaurants for a normal palate on the Las Vegas Strip?

I am looking for an upscale and romantic (great view is a plus) restaurant on the strip. Price is not problem, but I am looking for a place with "normal" food..... I don't get into all the fois gras, black truffles, and all that experimental "exotic" foods. I have eaten at Alize and enjoyed the filet with peppercorn, but looking for any other ideas. Any suggestions?

  1. Its kinda pricey, but we really enjoyed Top of the World in Stratosphere... the view is amazing!

  2. I strongly suggest Paris' "Mon Ami Gabi".  I went there on a date, was seated in the center area inside of the restaurant, but at the patio doors.  I believe you can reserve internal seating and ask for this desirable table if you call in ahead of time.

Romance can't get too much better than this view while you eat...it is straight across from the Bellagio fountains (which have been dubbed "our fountains" probably hundreds of times, including during my dinner)

The food was fabulous, also.  I'm from the New England and I have to say, the scallops were the best I've ever had!  At first, the portion seemed a little small, but in the end, we were both very satisfied with our meals.

Being this close also allows you to venture across the street afterwards to the fountains to see them upclose and listen to the music as you walk around the pond hand-in-hand...Very romantic!!

Another very romantic, upscale and somewhat private experience is had at the Wynn's "Tableau".  It's much nicer in the evening than their daytime picture online shows and you can get their menu at this website.  Their food and service was absolutely excellent.  I have a difficult time choosing between Mon Ami Gabi and Tableau, but I think Tableau wins due to the fact that it's more elegant and there are many tables along the wall to be seated at rather than my one seating choice at Mon Ami Gabi.  I believe I ordered a veal dish and was extremely happy with it and the soup also.

Lastly, Polazzo's "Morel's Steakhouse" is very good.

Not as romantic, no real view, but upscale (you'll definitely impress her) and just a little cramped in some center tables.  My only other reservation was sand in the somewhat fishy-flavored oysters. Everything else was very good and dinner was to die for.

These are my top three, thus far.

I look forward to going to each of these restaurants again!

Additionally, I did enjoy Alize and am happy to report I was the first to enjoy the first and second glass of Dom they have ever served (they just started serving it about 2 months ago)  Where's my plaque?  haha.  Fabulous food and exquisite view there also.

    Good luck and enjoy!!

  3. I liked the Eiffel Tower restaurant. Nothing too outrageous, and a view that can't be beat.

The Steakhouse at Binion's is good - very "old time" service and menu.

I also like Mon Ami Gabi at Paris. Not as romantic as the others, but a great view if you sit on the patio, and the food has always been excellent.

Delmonico's, at the Venetian is also good, but alas, no view.

  4. i was gonna recommend the top of the world also.

just based on your request for a view..

otherwise me and my wife must visit the peppermill everytime we go.(maybe not as upscale but has excellent

    "normal food".)
