Upside down goldfish?

Question

I got a goldfish in January and it was normal until the middle of July. Now it swims upside down and it floats at the top of the tank upside down too. But it can swim normally too and eat. It seems happy... I don't know why it's upside down all the time.. maybe it has air bubbles in it's stomach? If anyone knows what might be wrong with him please tell me :] thanks!

Ahh yes.  Your fish has issues with it's swim bladder.  My goldfish had it too.

Try feeding him de-shelled frozen peas. Cut them up into bite size pieces. This acts as a laxitive.

It may be dropsy or swim bladder disease and needing antibiotic food.

Feed him peas and antibiotic food.

Dead fish swimmin lol Unsure wat the prob may be try maybe bringin other fish into it and see if they do it if so its somethin in the tank a disease or sumthin

I saw this at the pet store once..and told a worker about it. They said sometimes when they digest food they tend to do that. This person didn't seem worried at all.

My grandma's fish does the same thing too, but he is perfectly healthy. I would start pre-soaking his food in tank water for a minute before you give it to him so there is less of a chance of air getting inside him. He could be constipated. You should feed your fish a variety of foods to help keep them from getting constipated. Or he could have a swim bladder infection, the pea trick works for that too. But seeing how he isn't distressed really, I  don't think anything is wrong O_o

My sister had a beta fish that did that and it died. i think its dying! :( i hope im wrong!

I did some research on it and Goldfish sometimes get that problem. Sometimes its Genetic and sometimes is a sickness. It is soemthing to do with their digestive system. They sell medicated food for it however. There are several other questions on Yahoo answers that have been explained a bit better than I have. But no reason to panic. He/She will most likely be just fine.

there is on at a chinesse resturant and the owner says its sleeping he been there for 2 years now. the owner is very proud of him and shows him off all the time.
