I am like a huge roller coaster fan! Before I get to the subject,If you dont live in san antonio or ever visited, and went to fiesta texas, this question wont make any sence so please dont say you are or have if you dont. There is this one new ride called the Goliath and today I got on it and they were just about to push the button, and I was all buckled in and then I chickend out and asked to get off. My brother is teasing me and I just dont know what to do. I have never been on an upside down ride. How do I face my fear because I just don't know if it is scary and what to expect.

  1. I feel kind of the same way. I love roller coasters, I want to design them. I'm just not super happy, when I see a giant roller coaster with 10 inversions in front of me (metaphorically speaking). If you don't want to ride them, just don't. You don't need to feel any shame if you don't want to ride something. Still, you need to make your decision early, not when the ride is about to take off. If you really want to ride it, just scream. It is that simple. Screaming is scientifically proven to help you on your roller coaster ride. Also, closing your eyes helps a lot, too. You won't feel the motion as much if your eyes are closed.

    The best of luck,

    Matt from CA

  2. You don't even notice it. I promise. If you close your eyes you don't feel it and if you open your eyes...you don't feel it. But to answer your actual question: To get over your fear you have to ride one.

  3. Close your eyes & hold on for dear life.

I used to have a fear of going upside down & my brother used to tease me too! Don't worry about a thing, now I love them! Just have fun! :)

  4. When I went on one for the first time, I was so scared, but when it was over, I realized that it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. When you go upside down, you either feel a somewhat strange sensation, or nothing. It depends on the upsidedown-ness. xD

But just in case, I wouldn't eat for an hour or two before riding, just in case.

To face your fear, just don't think about what you're gonna do. Just be like, I'm going to ride a roller coaster that doesn't go upsidedown!  And then you'll get on the ride, go upside down, and hopefully like it! (:

  5. Oh perfect, fiesta texas is so fun. But yes upside down roller coasters aren't anything to get worked up about. I never went on the goliath yet but I have been on other upside down roller coasters there. The thing is that you only stay upside down for a few second. And it's like scientifically impossible to fall out. Trust me it's fun. But my first upside down roller coaster was in a dark building (it was at disney world) so it might be harder outside where you can see everything.

Have you gone on the superman yet? That one could prep you for other coasters.

  6. I am saying this honestly ... not how when people say " oh its not gonna be scary at all " when it is ... going upside feels like nothing. Your hardly aware that your going upside down as a matter of fact. And if you are then your probably not having much fun and your focusing too much on the ride. I was DEATHLY afraid of going upside down. I didn't chicken out but I was almost in tears but a tip is to just close your eyes and focus on how much fun the ride is and how accomplished you'll feel after !! That's what got me through it and after the ride I was like " did we go upside down?!? " because I didn't relize it !! Lol but yeaa my great aunt lives in texas and I usually go there every summer for a month or so but this year I've been extremely busy with cheerleading and volleyball so I haven't. But when I do ill definitely go on that ride !

    xoxo
